Playground Heaven at Frew Park, Milton
Once you’ve done your weekend mowing and garden clean up, and it’s time to entertain the kids, head on down to Brisbane’s best playground for upper primary schooolers – Frew Park on Frew Street in Milton.
The former Milton Tennis Centre site and Milton Bowl site have been transformed by the Brisbane City Council into an amazing 3.5 hectare inner city parkland and playground heaven. The climbing structures are unique and a heap of fun, the lawn is great for the kids to run around on, and the tennis courts are perfect for all members of the family who want to enjoy a bit of sport in Brisbane’s sunny outdoors.
The only two things they need to do to improve this space is to: (a) get their Milton mowing guy to use some lawn paint on their brown, dead-looking grass; and (b) erect some more shade structures – because when we were there in the heat of the day, it was very busy and there weren’t many places for parents to stand (or children to rest) in the shade.
